Izmir Teos Presidium
Aegean Ancient Production Basins Natural Cold-Pressed Olive Oil
İzmir Teos Presidium Olive Oil is produced from the fruit of early-ripening olive trees that grow exclusively on the İzmir Peninsula, specifically in and around Teos—now known as Sığacık—and its surroundings. The Teos olive groves were created by grafting the early-ripening variety onto wild olive trees growing naturally within the Mediterranean forest ecosystem. No agricultural pesticides are used in the production process, the trees are not irrigated, and the olive groves continue to thrive whilst preserving their natural structure.
This agroecological production model, which began with delice trees, was recognised by Slow Food International as Ege Kadim Üretim Havzaları Natürel Sızma Presidium Zeytinyağı has been officially recognised as such.
